What's this all about?
On July 12-14, 2002, me and 12 other courageous people on the "San Francisco's Getting with the Program" team will be participating in a very special and powerful event in the fight against breast cancer. It’s called AVON’s Breast Cancer 3-Day.

What am I doing?
We'll be walking 60 miles from San Jose to San Francisco. The AVON effort hopes to raise over 25 million dollars for awareness and early detection of breast cancer. The net proceeds from the event will benefit AVON's Breast Cancer Awareness Crusade, a non-profit initiative of Avon Products, Inc. In partnership with the National Alliance of Breast Cancer Organizations (NABCO), grants are awarded to non-profit organizations that educate women about the facts of breast cancer, and the benefits of early detection and treatment

Why am I doing this?
I am walking in honor of a friend and my dear Aunt's sister who died of breast cancer. My Aunt's sister, Frieda, battled breast cancer valiantly for a number of years before her body succumbed to the disease. My friend only lived three months after she was diagnosed. Her name was Joy and that name fit her so well because she brought so much joy to those who knew her.

What's my goal?
My mission is to raise $3,000.00.

What's your part?
Would you please consider making a fully tax-deductible pledge to help me meet my goal? When you think of how much you might donate, please keep in mind how far I’m walking and how hard I will have to train between now and July. Click on the "Donate" link to get guidelines on how to donate.
